Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I'm 31 and about 100lbs over weight. About 6 months ago I fell at work and landed on my right knee. I thought it wasn't to bad, I was still in pain a week later so I went to the hospital got an x-ray, Dr said it was just a contusion and it would take time to heal. I was still in a lot of pain a month later so I went to a follow up appointment and had a MRI done. This Dr said I had a tear in my meniscus and I need to have arthroscope surgery. I did about 3 months ago. I have now been sent back to work full duty and I'm having a lot of pain and swelling. I went back to the Dr. and he now says I have arthritis on both sides of my knee and the surgery has aggravated it. He gave me a cortisone shot. That was 4 days ago and still no change. Do I have any other options?
