Suggest Treatment For A Fast Heart Rate Due To Congenital Heart Disease In Child
My 5 month old son, born with congenital heart disease is having unusually high sinus heart rate. He seems not too bothered his heart his just beating in the 180s. I believe it is from the anesthesia. He has had to open heart surgeries and two cardiac catheterizations. With each cath he has had a horrible time waking up. First time it was hours of delirium. This time it is the heart rate. His xray of heart and lungs the AM looked normal as did the echo. What should we do to normalize his heart rate?
Well, a heart rate in the 180s with asinus rhythm in a 5 month old baby does not require any medication to lower the heart rate, if the heart functioning is otherwise OK and there is no heart failure or rhythm disorder. Plesae continue with your present treatment course and regular follow ups.
