Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have suffered a full thickness tear of the medial gastrocnemius 6 days ago and have a small haematoma in the calf. I am also a type 1 diabetic so I tend to be very cautious. I may be requested to fly for work in the next 2-3 weeks and wondering if there is any risks due to the haematoma? Thanks
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, you can fly. No need to worry for this. Hematoma is external blood clotting. It is not related to deep venous thrombosis (DVT). So no risk of pulmonary embolism in flying. So take your flight without tension. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
