Suggest Treatment For A Large And Painful Dental Abscess
I am a 25 year old male, 6'2" about 175 lbs. I have typically not had very many health problems. However due to lack of insurance I have a number of dental issues that have progressed over years.
Currently I have a dental abscess on the right side of my jaw that has grown large and painful. It has been there about a week and it is getting unbearable. What needs to be done to treat this immediately and what can I do until I can see professional help?

U can take antiboitic qnd pain killer for nt morthan 5 days and consult a dentist . Roor canal therapy,apisectomy,incision abd drainage tywse r the treatment options ,dippends on clinical condition thwse are the treatment options

The abscess could be because of the tooth infection or the gum infection. You need to consult a oral physician and take a radiograph to rule out the abscess from other conditions like cyst and osteomyelitis. If you delay further you will lose the tooth and the infection might spread to involve other areas of the jaw.
You can take a course of antibiotics and analgesics like amoxicillin 500mg and metronidazole 400mg tid for 5 days (if you are not allergic).
if it is a tooth infection it can be treated with RCT or extraction. If it is a gum infection then the gums has to be cleaned and curretted.
Do saline gargling.
