Suggest Treatment For A Painful Bruise On The Foot

I just noticed that I have a bruise on the top of my right foot. I have no idea where it came from. I did go to a rolfing session this morning but my foot was not bruised by this. I cannot see how that would have happened. I have had sessions before and this is the first time I have had a bruise.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

There can be various causes for painful bruise on the foot as:
- Walking barefoot
- Unnoticed trauma
- Ill fitting shoes
- Bug bite (unnoticed)

Primary relieving factors

- Cleansing with antiseptic liquid or soap
- Local application of Aloe vera gel
- Analgesic and anti-inflammatory medications as diclofenac or piroxicam

Discuss the need of any antibiotic from your doc for faster resolution.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
