Suggest Treatment For A Persistent Headache

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...
good afternoon. i'm not sure how this on-line talk works, so please bare with me while i figure it out. i am coming to you from Ohio, and am female the age of 57. i have had these headaches for months now and have been telling my doctor about them. he started out with some x-rays to rule out any sinus problems.
i've been to see a regular md., as well as an optometrist because of these ocular visions that i have before the migrain. yesterday i went to see a neuro opthalmologic, and did not get any clear diagnosis, except that i am having migraines. well no duh...
this neuro ophthalmologist would like to schedule an MRI of my brain just to rule out any tumors. then he says he will send me to a neurologist to probably get some sort of drug to help my pain.
i'm wondering.....will a neurologist check me for any other types of issues, let's say lupus, or diabetes which are also related to some types of migraine-scintillating-scotomas? i'm just an old country girl with a headache that just won't go away and they keep feeding me drugs. my stomach is raw from all their drugs and i still have this headache. i feel like i'm just another number, sitting in a waiting room,,, clm
