Suggest Treatment For A Pulp In Each Nostril While On Nasacort

I have a polp in each nostril and doctor put me on nasacort. I did it for a few days and my nose was burning and the face around nose was burning. I took myself off of it and wondered if you have any other suggestions as doctor told me that was the only way they would get smaller.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for trusting healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

As per your description it seems that you have nasal polyps,It is nothing but a peer shaped benign(non cancerous) growth from your sinuses. It is generally harmless but can cause recurrent nasal blocks and infections.
Many treatment options are available depending upon the size and severity of illness as directed by an ENT specialist.
1.Steroid nasal sprays like "nasacort" can be tried as a first line management,It might help ton shrink the polyp.
2.Antihistamines like cetrezine and nasal decongestants would provide symptomatic relief. But does not provide complete cure.
3.Surgery is definitive therapy,It is a minor procedure in which the growth is removed preferably by an endoscopic method.
You can try the following to prevent recurrence of symptoms.
1.Steam inhalation twice a day for twenty minutes.
2.Avoid nasal irritants like dust, smoke as much as possible.
3.Humidify your home.
4.Use a saltwater (saline) spray or nasal lavage to rinse your nasal passages.

Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.

Regards.
