I have a superficial small lump on the outside of my left breast about the 7 o clock position. It is not red or inflamed. I have dense breast tissue, but this is the first I noticed a superficial lump. Should I be concerned? What might be the cause I have an apt. with my Doctor next week
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have small lump in the breast. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like breast cysts , milk cysts , fibrocystic breasts , fibroadenoma , lipoma , injury or breast cancer. I would suggest you to consult general surgeon for proper diagnosis without any delay specially if you notice lump grows larger , breast is bruised or inverted nipple . Doctor may order mammogram , ultrasound , biopsy and physical examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics for infection , remove it surgically in cae of cyst or benign growth or doctor may recommend radiotherapy in case of cancer like condition . For now keep observing and apply warm compresses to it .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
