Suggest Treatment For A Swollen Bump On The Head

Hi I have venous lake of the skull and recently fall hitting the back of my head. I had a CT which revealed no fracture and only swelling bump. After two weeks, I still feel some dizziness only when I rest my head over the pillow and still can feel the bump a little. Should I be concerned and practice another CT or should I wait. I practice tennis and am afraid to return while feeling this way. Should I return to sports and normal excersice or still wait?

Hello dear,

Considering the fact that your CT scan of brain is normal, any intracranial pathology is ruled out.
Under such circumstances, the symptoms of dizziness and swelling can be attributed to the impact as well as accumulation of fluid & blood.
The blood cells accumulated are eventually broken down and absorbed in the body. But this is a slow process & takes times to disappear completely.

Till that time, symptomatic relief is obtained by analgesics preparations (like paracetamol), ice compression & adequate rest.

If it still persists or there are any other associated symptoms like fever, vomiting, loss of consciousness, convulsions, etc...then it will be better to consult your Doctor.

Till then, maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status.
There is no need to worry, you will be fine.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
