Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Cramps While On Penicillin
I have had stomach cramps and a knotted feeling in my stomach since I have been using Penicillin for the last 3 days. What can I do for this? And should I discontinue use, because I am under the impression I need to complete the use of pills I had been prescribed
Based on the history you have shared, penicillins are notorious to cause gastric upsets in the form of cramps or loose motions.
Though the symptoms reverse after the usage. Stopping it temporarily may be helpful but the reason for which it was initially advised should also be taken into account.
Either other antibiotics may be needed after review with your primary care physician or clindamycine etc is used for almost same bacterial spectrum treatment in individuals who are intolerant to penicillins.
Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen and antispasmodic like drotavarine can be helpful for symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
