Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain With Nausea And Diarrhea
I was admitted to hospital on 5/1 for acute abdominal pain, diagnosed as omental infraction. Pain is still there though not as strong but doesn t seem to be dissipating. Now accompanied with nausea, rumbling stomach at site of pain, diarrhea. What is solution to this as my dr seems to be taking a ride it out approach.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of admission to hospital on 5/1 for acute abdominal pain, diagnosed as omental infarction, pain is reducing, now have nausea, rumbling stomach, and diarrhea. Wants to know the solution. Omental fat necrosis is a rare cause of pain in abdomen and the diagnosis is always by CT scan or on exploration by Laparoscopy. Te nausea can be due to the reflex mechanism of he body by which the body responds by nausea and vomiting in response to any insult to the abdomen with pain, trying to ward off the intake that can cause increase in problems. Hence the treatment is usually symptomatic as there is no specific treatment available for such conditions, hence to continue with the empirical management and if required to put in a scope like Laparoscope and see what can be done.
