Suggest Treatment For Acid Reflux And Soreness In The Foot
I had general anaesthetic today to remove a mortons neuroma . I came home 5 hours after op and apart from some soreness in foot , I have felt fine . Only taken one paracetamol before bed even though pain wasn t bad . I ve woken with acid reflux (burning sensation in upper throat /back of mouth . Could this be resulting from anaesthetic or pain relief given in surgery ? Should I take antacid tablet ? Never really suffered from this before
Acid reflux after operation is due to anaesthetic and other pain relief meds they have given during operation. Can take antacid to relieve acid reflux. If no improvement, should start ranitidine or omeprazole for at least 2 weeks.
Try to avoid alcohol/spicy/chilly foods. Have your dinner at least 4 hours before going to bed. Do not lay down immediately after eating.
Have frequent and small meals.
If still no improvement, GI specialist to consult further.
Wish fast recovery.
