A relative of mine aged 38 years is a lawyer in profession and hyper tensed man is having a problem of discharge of albumin in urine. What is the cause for it and what is the treatment for the same? Note: He had been treated for nephrites syndrome at the age of 13 years and completely cured.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Albumin, or protein, in the urine is a symptom of kidney disease. In your friend's case, hypertension is the obvious culprit, although you should examine him for other causes, e.g. diabetes, cardiovascular disease, rheumatological causes, etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
