Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. Alcohol is a brain depressant substance and regular use cause strong dependence. So when an individual stop using alcohol after prolonged intake there occurs acute withdrawal which should be managed by a doctor. In some individuals the mild form of withdrawal persist even for long durations of time like months to years. Craving of alcohol, anxiety etc are common symptoms. As your symptoms are persistent so I'd advise you to consult a psychiatrist for help.
Medicines like pregabalin or gabapentin can help to reduce the anxiety and will reduce the craving also. Apart from this low dose benzodiazepines like Clonazepam or Lorazepam etc can also help in reducing these symptoms. Please consult a psychiatrist for proper prescription.
Thanks, I hope this helps you. Take care
