Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I will try to help you as much as I can.
Pus is formed because not all the pus is evacuated last time and small parts of parasites are left in liver. Treatment of amebic liver abscess may be long and difficult and usually metronidazol treatment isnt sufficient so aspirations may be required. even aspirations may be unsuccessful and as a last option, surgical drainage can be performed so you should consider this with your doctor especially if sepsis or ameba dissemination occur.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you good health.
