General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi Shakir,

I am sorry for the situation you are going through.

If you have been suffering of amoebic dysentery, then, I suppose you've done fecal analysis to detect amoeba and stool culture and sensitivity testing.

Next, abdominal ultrasound is required to determine the location of abscess in liver; colonoscopy to check your bowels; blood tests to detect antibodies.

Treatment include metronidazole and tinidazole together with drinking plenty of water with ORS.

Following good hygienic measures like washing your hands especially before eating or when preparing food; washing your fruits/vegetables thoroughly; avoid sharing utensils or being in contact with infected people.

Wish fast recovery!
