Suggest Treatment For An Eye Infection

I have had burning, dry, red eye since mid Jan. Saw optometrist and told to use drops every 2 hrs (systane). Don't wear contacts til cleared up. Did that for 2 weeks. Wore contacts for 3-4 days, about 8 hrs per day. Eyes doing the same thing again. It also seems like one eye feel worse than the other. Gets a little better, then the other one does it. Dr. said it didn't look like any infection. Should I go back again, or do the drops again?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
hi dear
burning ,red eyes could be because of dryness which systane takes care of in many patients but dear there could be other reasons also .these could be following :
1 severe dryness to which additional drop like an immunosuppressive cylosporin would be required
2 it could be an allergic reaction to the contact lens or its solution or an allergy to an outside allergen
3 some chronic inlamations and even infection needs to be ruled out
4 it could also be meibmian gland dysfunction
please let an ophthalmologist examine your eyes

good luck
