My 15 yr.old grandson is displaying anxiety with obsessive compulsive factor...he constantly washes his hands and arms, sometimes it seems endless. My daughter, his mom, is extremely frustrated and has brought him to a professional therapist. Please, let me know if there is anything I can, as his grandmother do to help; I have had anxiety and unfortunately it runs in my family...I would appreciate your opinion.
Along with this behavioural therapy may be essential for which you need to consult a psychologist.
Patient co operation is required which can be achieved by encouraging him and supporting him and explaining to him that he needs to change the behaviour for the good.
Hope this helped. Regards, Dr.Riyanka
