Suggest Treatment For Back Pain And Nerve Pain On Leg
In August I woke up with pain (nerve pain) going down my right leg.... I also had extreme pain in my back. It eventually went away after three months - but had am MRI on my lumbar spine and SI ... The results were that I have mild multilevel deg disc disease in the lumbar spine and that there is no evidence of compression fracture or marrow edema. I do have mild posterior disc bulge causing slight indentation of the thecal sac and contacts the traversing S1 nerve roots... I also have SEVERE bilateral L5 - S1 facet deg changes. I am only 58 - and probably 40 pounds overweight - I was golfing 3 - 5 times a week - but haven't really done any exercise since August - I also can't take an anti inflammatory as I am allergic to ASA - What would you suggest I do...

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Mukesh Chugh's Response
hi i have gone through query my advise would be - 1. Reduce body weight and do back muscle strengthening excercises under guidance. 2 If you don't have the symptoms which you had in august don't worry now about the MRI reports, these are for doctors to see. 3.take diet rich in calcium and vit.D with pain killer and muscle relaxant on sos basis, which suits you. take care and please come back after 15 days.
