General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to back muscles strain or injury to intervertebral disc. A physical examination by an orthopedician and a X ray lumbosacral sine should be taken if necessary to exclude any injury. MRI will be needed in case of neurological deficits. I usually advise my patients with such condition with NSAIDs like aceclofenac muscle relaxants like thiocolchicoside and advise rest from hard physical exertion for 3 to 4 days. Lumbar supporting belt also will be helpful. Physiotherapy will be needed in case of persisting pain and discomfort. Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further queries. Thanks.
