My son went for a physical to get his CDL license. when it came to the vision part he passed it except for the depth perception part. They said he had binocular vision. He wore glasses when he was very little (6-7) for about 2 years..but then they kept telling me he didn t need glasses anymore, his vision was fine. After high school he hasn t had a eye exam since...he is now 22. I am sending him to an optomologist today but just don t get it..they told him he will never get a CDL (chauffer) because of this. Is there not corrective lenses or something that fixes this? What questions do I need to be asking?
problem of having depth perception means he has problem of having binocular vision. This is mandatory for license. Refraction of both eye should be done again.Any defect detected should be corrector. This way depth perception should be corrected.
