Suggest Treatment For Bleeding And Discoloration On The Leg Due To An Open Wound

I fell on an old tree stump on june 5 and it punctured my leg and left me with pieces of wood fragments. I had 9 stitches which were left in for twelve days. The next day my wound came open again. They put on butterfly strips and told me to just take it easy on that leg. Now it has bled again and I have a large discoloration which circles the area. Should I be concerned as to wither there is more fragments in there? Or just not worry about it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you should get worried about it. You should visit a surgeon to check if it is infected. Taking oral antibiotics may be helpful to reduce infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
