Suggest Treatment For Blockage In The Arteries And Mitral Valve Regurgitation

Hi. My mum had angiography and echo cardiography couple of days ago. Doctors said, one of the heart valve is leaking and sometimes in many humans it is by birth . And other thing they mention three arteries are blocked. Doctors said we ll take another test named thallium scan. And after four weeks we ll go for the surgery. What do you suggest only angioplasty to open arteries is enough or we should go for the surgery for valve leakage too? Doctors says my mums hearts working 40%

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

In my opinion, valve replacement is mandatory to cure the issue of mitral valve regurgitation. Till that time, she should continue anti platelet , cardio-selective drugs and rest medications prescribed by her cardiologist.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
