Suggest Treatment For Blocked Nose When Diagnosed With Sinus Infection
I have been diagnosed with a sinus infection by an ENT. He put me on my third round of antibiotics and prednisone. I have a catscan scheduled Friday. Even though I am blowing some out my sinuses, I'm still stopped up and miserable. What can I do to relieve pressure besides cipro and mucin ex in the interim?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms continuous blowing of nose due to sinus infection or sinusitis can be due to formation of thick mucous in the sinus and that causes pressure and congestion and difficulty in draining..
Along with antibiotic Ciprofloxacin and mucinex you can take decongestant nasal sprays, saline nasal spray as it loosens the mucous and ease in draining.. Do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room to ease congestion..
Stay away from excessive cold air, air conditioner etc as it can cause congested feeling..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
