Suggest Treatment For Blocked Tear Ducts In Children
My daughter is 9 months old and has suffered from Conjuctivitus since she was 1 month old. I have been treating the eye with Chloramphenicol Eye drops. As it has now gone into both eyes my Gp has prescribed me Fucithalmic. To clean the area I use cooled boiled water and cotton wool balls. I have been told that she may have blocked tear ducts, but surely after using drops it wouldnt clear up????
Hello I reviewed your history. Blocked tear duct is a common problem in children. No need to worry. Most of them will be resolved by the age of 1 year. The treatment is by the use of antibiotic eye drops as of now. If it does not resolve then probing is required to relieve the obstruction.
Do consult your eye doctor for further treatment.
Thank you
