Hi,
Thanks for your question.
After going through your question, I can understand your concern.
There is a
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) in your case.
Varicose vein is one of the risk factor for development of DVT.
Other factors increases the chance like -
- Prolonged immobilization.
- Use of
contraceptive pills.
Treatment of DVT -
- Oral
anticoagulant (prevent clotting of blood), Tab Xarelto is one of them.
Tab Xarelto contains Rivaroxaban.
Being anticoagulant it's main side effect may be
internal bleeding.
But considering the life threatening complications of DVT (
Pulmonary Embolism is one of them ), risk of bleeding is much more less as compared to prevention of complications of DVT.
- For fluid retention there may be need of diuretics (water pill), consult your treating doctor.
- You are on optimal treatment for DVT.
- Avoid risk factors like avoid Prolonged immobilization, use of DVT stocking after consulting your doctor, avoid contraceptive pills in case of female.
Hope this helps you, if so do vote as helpful.
