Hello Doctor, My Mother-In-Law who is aged around 45 years is suffering from severe weakness from many years[almost 15 years] Now it has been severe and she is unable to walk properly and perform her daily duties. Around 2 years back we have consulted one Rheumatologist and he performed some clinical tests and concluded that she has vitamin d deficiency. He gave some medicines and she used it for only some months and again the situation is normal. Now again i want to show her to some specialist.can you please give me advice to which specialist i have to show her. Sreenath Reddy C.
I think that you should consult a internal medicine specialist, detailed blood investigation are required like blood sugar, thyroid levels, complete blood count and ultrasound of whole abdomen, blood vitamin D level also has to be repeated. All autoimmune disorders are to be excluded.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
