Suggest Treatment For Bronchial Infection And Fever
17 yr. old son had a bronchial infection (no other symptoms. No fever) about 10 days ago and was prescribed zithromax. Bronchial infection went away but he soon developed an earache with a low grade temp. Brought him back to doctor who prescribed amoxicillin and zyrtek. This is the 6th day with low grade temperature (100-100.8) and he now has swollen lymph nodes in his neck. Is this a viral infection that needs to run it s course or does he need to see the Dr. again? Thanks!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bronchial infection and fever which is due to lung infection/ Bronchiectasis. I would suggest you visit pulmonologist once and go for Gram's staining, culture and sensitivity from the sputum to find out exact cause of your condition. You should get chest X-ray done. You should use throat lozenges and go rinses with warm saline water. Take diet rich in vitamin B12. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. You should drink plenty of water and rest as much as possible. Take antibiotic levofloxacin for 5- 7 days. Avoid hot, spicy and sharp food substances. Use mist humidifiers in room.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
