Suggest Treatment For Bruise

I have a bruise that I have had for 13 years now. It has grown slowly and has irregular sides, is asymmetrical, and changes color from a pinkish to a dark purple. It rarely hurts, but last week it was on fire and made the rest of my arm hurt. It became swollen and when the swelling was gone I could now feel a small lump under this area. I of course went to my doctor, who ordered a sonogram with which they confirmed a small "questionable" mass. They ordered a removal and biopsy, but I have received no information as to what this might be and can find no clear answers in the research I have been doing online. Can you let me know what I might be expecting to hear?
