Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
about 4 days ago i fell out of my bathtub and hit my right UPPER thigh in the back section of my leg near the buttocks area. it is very bruised, first the bruising was dark purple now it has become lighter but the pain has not subsided,it actually has become worse and is reaching down to my foot on same side. i am very concerned because it has almost been a full week and the pain is increasing NOT decreasing as my DR had said it would. i would like some input and advice as to what i should do to help the recovery become more speedy and also if the symptoms i have listed are anything i should worry about. please respond back to me as soon as possible. Sincerely, Pamela Grubb
Please apply ice packs on the bruise and keep the leg elevated. Also if the pain is persistent please take paracetamol 500 mg as needed. If you notice any new swelling, or change in the color of the skin and the pain is not reduced even with the medication then further assessment needs to be done physically.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bakaraju Aruna Shravanthi, Diabetologist
