Suggest Treatment For Cervical Spondylosis And Osteophytes

I have been having neck and shoulder pain for over six months with increased worsening. Also have numbness and tingling of fingers. Have creepy crawling feeling to left leg, forehead and shoulder area. Have pain that radiates to right elbow. Pressure in ears. Cracking and popping of neck. I cannot keep ars raised to brush my hair but a few minutes. MRI shows cervical spondylosis and osteophytes at C5-6 and C6-7. Worst affected is level C6-7 with moderate sized portion disc osteophyte and left sided uncovertebral osteophyte cause mild central and left sided neural foraminal stenosis. What are my treatment options since symptoms have been worsening. I am 50 y/o.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In fact the treatment of cervical spondylosis is a bit difficult. This mostly depends on the severity of the symptoms that your neurosurgeon would assess and plan. This may include rest to neck ( cervical collar ) , physiotherapy. Many will be helped by this however if this fail then it may need injection into the the neck or surgery. No doubt neurosurgeon would decide this. So see your neurosurgeon and make a plan ahead.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
