Hi I had chronic cough for few months doc gave me antibiotics And inhaler, no change in cough. Went back to doc 3 months later again she gave me antibiotic and inhaler, said if cough doesn't go away go back. Cough remained total eight months. Doc ordered x rAy which showed density in left lung she ordered CT scan then I was referred to pulmonologist who asked series of questions then views x ray and ct scan. Now pulmonologist is wanting biopsy done on a small abnormal spot size of grape on this thing. Other symptoms include spitting up clear sputum. Could this be cancer? Or possibly something els? I do run out of breath and feel it's harder to get air at times. I get chest pains which feel kind of like heartburn only more pain then burning, it's not unbearable. I'm now starting to get these pains in lower left lung area. The pain their is bearable but uncomfortable and just started a day or two ago.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, this can be lung cancer. You are having chronic cough which is not relieved by routine antibiotic and drugs. You are also having grape like opacity on chest x ray which is confirmed on CT thorax. All these are favoring lung cancer more. Another possibility is granulomatous lung infection like tuberculosis. So better wait for biopsy result to confirm diagnosis. If you are active smoker then smoking cessation is must. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
