Hi,

Gastritis is the condition involving the stomach where the walls of the Stomach gets inflamed following assault either due to gastric acid or due to spicy which in turn stimulates more acid secretion which leads to acidity and mucosal erosion. The epithelial exposure following mucosal erosion leads to inflammation of the gastric tissue eventually results in ulcer and bleeding.

Nexium, contains esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor which decreases the gastric acid secretion. Antiemetics are advised to treat vomiting. Balanced diet without spicy, fat rich and oily foods should be followed along with medicine for better drug effect. Endoscopy is needed to evaluate the severity of the condition and to confirm the bacterial etiology. Prozac and Ativan are anti-depressants and benzodiazepine respectively, might be prescribed to control the brain effects on vomiting. Stress is other condition causing gastritis. Discuss with the gastroenterologist for further details.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
