Suggest Treatment For Cold And Cough
I finished a course of Amoxicillin for a Sinus infection about 2 wks. ago. I felt better. Then, a few days after, I started to feel cold-like symptoms again, this time with a loose cough. I began taking Mucinex-D immediately, and I have coughed up yellow mucus. I feel ok...I m just conjested and after I wake up I have a sinus head ache. Should I go back to the doctor to get another antibiotic, or should I just continue the mucinex, fluids and rest and wait it out for a few mor days? Also...I realize that i forgot to change my toothbrush after i was sick the first time...could I have reinfected myself?

I may be recurrent pharyngitis it may be due to allergy or post nasal discharge or due to allergic rhinitis. Avoid cool drinks and ice creams, check and stay away from animal dander or pollen. Use stream inhalation thrice a day for five days. Salt water gargling thrice a day may useful. Continue antibiotics for one week if symptoms not improved please get it sputum culture and throat swab culture and sensitivity. Review with reports and consult with your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
