Suggest Treatment For Collapsed Lungs

I have a rare genetic disease called BHD Syndrome. I had a collapsed lung last jan. 2014 with chest tube inserted, 4 blebs removed and stapled along with pluerodesis surgery. Yesterday I started experiencing pain whenever I inhale or talk. I had hard time sleeping because chest hurts. Am I experiencing a pneumothorax? How do I know when to go to hospital.

You could be experiencing a pneumothorax. You have a disease that can cause collapsed lungs. A new bleb can pop and cause this. Any symptoms related to your chest and breathing should be always be considered as a possible pneumothorax. You should go to the hospital anytime you are experiencing the symptoms you are having now. It is much better to get this checked out and find nothing wrong than to ignore a possible life-threatening problem. Hope this helps.
