HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
The
high fever would likely indicate an acute infection and may not necessarily be related to his long term symptoms.
If his temperature continues to be increased then he may need to be assessed by his doctor.
The long term history of abdominal distension may be
bloating which maybe related to : (a) constipation
(b)lactose intolerance
(c)food intolerance- this means that he cannot tolerate certain foods, you can try a food diary for a week, note what he eats and his response/symptoms that occur
(D)use of too much gas producing foods such as broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, beans, carbonated drinks, prunes
(e)reflux
You can try the food diary and also reducing the use of gas producing foods along with lactose free milk and see if this helps to reduce his long term symptoms
I hope this helps
