Suggest Treatment For Constipation

hi this is about my baby girl who is 16 months old and is a trisomy 21 baby.since one month of age she is having problems with passing of bowels.till the time she was on breast feed her motions were normal(2-3 times a day)from seven months she is severely constipated when i started her on wheat cereal(cerelac)though now she is strictly on non wheat and non dairy diet,her constipation is still severe.we regularly give her enema every 3days for her to pass her motion.she is on prebiotic,lactolose and lots of vege nd fruits diet,still nothing seems to be working .Is surgery the only option for her now? pls help.(she was admitted in hospital for one week at the age of 21 da

Hello,

Trisomy 21 is downs syndrome. Downs kids 40 percent usually have hypothyroidism which could be causing symptoms. Please check thyroxine levels.
