Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
recently I was diagnosed with possible contact dermatitis with severe skin rash which covers my entire stomach / chest and back. extremely red with raised bumps mingled. today I experienced quite sudden fluid buildup in abdominal and lower abdomen, including fluid buildup in genital area (specifically penis shaft). quite alarming. is this a medical emergency?
Mainstay of treatment for contact dermatitis is with antihistamine pills, application of moisturizer, and corticosteroid cream.
Kindly do the following to overcome it. 1. Take tablet Levocetirizine. 2. Apply Neomycin with Hydrocortisone cream over the affected regions twice a day. 3. Apply moisturizer cream over the lesions at bedtime.
Avoid exposure to the stimulant as it would exaggerate the symptoms and prevents from getting better. Gradually, you should be able to overcome the problem and be back to normal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr Ashakiran S
