Suggest Treatment For Cyst Found In A Ultrasound Scan
Hi, I did a ultrasound scan today as per my dcotor s advice. My left ovary measures 2.5*1.7cm, shows peripherally placed follicles and my right ovary mesaures 5.5*3.5*cm, demonstrates a simple cyst measuring 4.5*2.8cm.what does it mean? Please advice, i need to go for a surgery or it can be cured by taking pcos medicines.Thanks

Ovarian cysts can sometimes be associated with no symptoms or problems and may only be monitored for changes.
Monitoring is done by ultrasounds.
If you are having pain or other symptoms related to the cyst, then you may need surgery.
PCOS refers to the presence of multiple cysts (more than one), if your ultrasound only showed one cyst then you may not have pcos. It would depend on if you have any additional criteria (irregular periods, evidence of high testosterone levels- blood test, acne, abnormal hair growth).
