My daughter is 15yrs old and was involved in a severe car accident in december 2008...she was a cheerleader in 6th and 7th grade and 9th grade!! now almost 2 yrs later she has extreme back pain and has been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease...is this normal for a 15yr to get this???
Post trauma this is possible with spine injury. Get an MRI of spine done .This age is not common for degenerative diseases but trauma can lead to damage of disc resulting in fibrosisof annular ring with prolapse of disc.It certainly requires treatment by spine specialist
