Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I woke up this morning with diarrhea and nausea. This afternoon my diarrhea symptoms have subsided but my blood sugar is 245. All I ate today was saltines and water? My blood sugar is normally about 140 in the afternoon before dinner. I did not take my Metformin today or yesterday?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have diarrhea and nausea which seems to be due to disturbance of electrolytic balance of body. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like food intolerance , food allergy , bacterial or viral infection , parasitic infection or inflammatory bowel disease. Need not to worry. You should take small quantity of food and avoid large intake at a single time. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like ornidazole , albendazole , omeprazole along with loperamide. You should eat light and non spicy , eat fresh fruits and vegetables and eat fruits like banana. Take oral rehydrating solution as well.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
