Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Speaking, Confusion And Depression
My brother has been suffering from difficulty speaking - mainly getting the words our, mental confusion, hand shaking, failure to carry out tasks, sleeps 12-15 hours a day, and I m sure depressed. This has been getting progressively worse over a two year period. He has been living in China for 12 years teaching in an International School. he has an 11 year old daughter there and an estranged wife. He has been to several doctors in China who have given him the diagnosis of hypoglycemia and/or premature aging. He has been to a neurologist in the US who has diagnosed him with brain deterioration but since he has no insurance in the US no treatment plan was made. I am his sister and though he has gone back to China and is staying in a hotel and looking for a job, I don t think he is capable of th job or living on his own. And needless to say I am very concerned. Any suggestions?

It looks like your brother needs to go through a thorough medical check-up. Difficulty in speech & confusion is commonly due to the damage to the brain nerves.
Shaking (tremor) of the hands is indicative of developing Peripheral Neuropathy. It may occur due to food allergy (GMO in food), vitamin deficiency, genetic disorder or drug abuse.
Other causes can be Aphasia, Alzheimer's disease or Stroke.
If left untreated the symptoms may get worse. Help him stay away from addictions if any. He may need to detox. He needs medical support.
Help him get examined by a Neurologist. He will have to go through a series of blood & Imaging tests. Get him evaluated & diagnosed so that the treatment can be started at the earliest.
Neglect will result in the worsening of the symptoms.
