Suggest Treatment For Dilated Pupils After A Scleral Buckle Surgery
I had scleral buckle surgery for a giant retinal tear on December 20, 2014. My pupil has been dilated since. I discontinued Atropine eye drops on December 31, 2014 and prednisolone eye drops on January 25, 2015? Could the dilated pupil be due to the Prednisolone or more likely due to the surgery? If the pupil remains dilated, will prescription eyeglasses be able to correct the refractive error?
Dilated pupils after scleral buckle surgery is common and is probably seen because of dilating eye drops used after the surgery. Once the eye drops are stopped the pupil size will become normal.
Hope this is helpful to you. Do write to me for further questions and I will be happy to help.
Thank you
