Suggest Treatment For Diplopia

I am experiencing double vision at a distance. I am 63. I wear glasses. The double vision is not all the time but when watching tv at a distance of more than 10 feet and while driving. I was told it may be decompensated phoria and new glasses have been ordered. I do not have diabetes, experience no headaches or pain of any kind.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
Thanks for the query under HCM platform.
I understand your concern.
Diplopia can arise due to problems of cornea/ lens/ muscles or nerves involved in vision.
The exact cause is to be found with expert opinion of an ophthalmologist & investigations like blood testing & CT scan studies as per needful. ONce the causative factor is found it's corrected by specific treatment (medicines/ surgery )
Thanks.
I find this answer helpful
