Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal, MD.
Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query
I think she has had a
stroke 2 years back. Now I cannot comment on the extent of damage done without having a look at the
MRI, but I can make the following suggestions
1. physiotherapy- regular exercise and passive movements of the affected
limbs, at least 4 times a day with minimum 10 reps each
2. lateral positioning 3 hourly to avoid bed sores
3. What were your mother's hobbies? Give her some access to it. Like music? Read to her?
4. Take her out. Let her move
The idea of both the above points is to get her some stimulation for movement
5. Stay motivated yourself. The care of
dementia and
paralysis patient can be morally taxing on care givers. So remain motivated yourself
I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above/if any other so I can be of help further. Best of luck.
