Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi doctor. I have had MRI findings in my Thoracic Spine which reveal a few disc bulges and two mild herniations. My research has revealed that the disc space in the thoracic area is limited which could cause the disc to easily hit the spinal cord and cause numbness in your legs and possibly paralysis. However, I had a neurologist look at the films and he opined that the radiologist seemed to be overeading the film and he sees no major issues. I, however, continue to have pain and tightness in my thoracic area. I also from time to time get some numbness in my foot. Am I heading toward surgery? Or can this be cured to some degree to enable me to live a pain free normal life? By the way, I am only 40 years old.
