Suggest Treatment For Discolored And Swollen Fingernail After Being Smashed
My husband smashed his finger while changing a tire three days ago. There is bleeding under the nail and the fingertip is swollen and red. Three days ago the blue hue under the nail was only present in the bottom quarter of the nail and now it is covering three quarters of the nail. Can this injury be left to heal on its own?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain due to injury there has been bleeding and blood has accumulated under the skin of the nail.. The blue hue is due to it only and is known as bruise.. Nothing to worry as it will heal gradually.. You can do alternate warm and cool compresses.. Apply Heparin containing ointment and steroid ointment over it.. If there is pain you can take Ibuprofen..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
