Suggest Treatment For Diverticultis

i had diverticultis about 3 weeks ago and I thought it was cleared up. The past few days I have been so tired and started with the pain on my left side again yesterday. Today my whold abdomen hurts. Is tiredness a symptom of diverticulitis? I am going to call my gastro dr. again tomorrow. Will he do another CT scan even though I just had one done 3 weeks ago? Thank you.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Since you are a known patient of diverticulitis, it is very possible that the recurrence of pain in the left side of abdomen is related to recurrence of inflammation or infection.
Yes, surely the CT scan only can tell about the possibility of proper diagnosis hence go for it.
But at the same time you have to get started on proper antibiotic, metronidazole, supportive and symptomatic treatment as soon as possible. Hence consult your regular PCP or emergency services to get a proper clinical evaluation, examination and management.
Avoid the foods and beverages that are known to instigate or enhance the problems. Take plenty of fluids, boiled and cooled water to avoid dehydration.
