Suggest Treatment For Ear Pain And Discomfort That Results From An Injury

I was slapped on the left side of my face and right side hit a blunt area 2 days ago. Ever since my left ear feels numb and i can hear myself in my left ear...as if it is blocked, and there is a discharge of clear fluid. My right ear is muffled and i can hear a far away car in my right ear that the sound is driving my crazy. Can t describe it. It sounds like i m under water.

Hi,

You need to have an otolaryngologist review and get audiometry done as well as ear drum examination as suspected trauma to ear drum is a possibility. Meanwhile don't insert anything except dry clean cotton swab and OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful orally.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
