Suggest Treatment For Ear Pain With Hearing Loss

hi i have a question about my ears i have had ear infections for most of my ears i am a 20yr old female height 5'6 180lbs and i lost part of my hearing in both ears but more in my left ear , it is as if i am under water i have had this pain in my ears for about a week it comes and goes

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your query you have symptoms of ear pain with hearing loss which seems to be due to earwax buildup, inner ear infection and condition like Meniere's disease.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply warm dry compresses and start taking Ginkgo biloba supplement. You should put anti-inflammatory ear drops. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order test like hearing test, blood test, examination with otoscope and CT scan and may remove wax, prescribe antibiotics in case of infection and corticosteroid ear drops.
